Production/Warehouse Operative
Outskirts of Bedford - Transport required due to location.
Permanent
40hrs, Flexible Day Shifts
£23,795.20 per annum
Our client is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as Production/Warehouse Operative. As a vital part of the production and distribution process, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of their products.
The roles primary responsibilities will revolve around baking, mixing, labelling, and filling products. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to strict quality standards, and a passion for contributing to a well established team.
Responsibilities
Baking:
* Prepare and bake specialised products according to established recipes, procedures, and food safety guidelines.
* Ensure precise measurements and adherence to quality standards to produce consistent and high-quality products.
* Monitor equipment and troubleshoot any issues to maintain optimal performance.
Mixing:
* Accurately measure and mix various food powders according to formulation guidelines.
* Utilise mixing equipment efficiently and safely to achieve uniform blends.
* Follow batch records and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain batch traceability and quality control.
Labelling:
* Apply labels to products with precision and attention to detail.
* Ensure compliance to company standards for labelling and packaging.
Quality Checks:
* Conduct visual inspections of finished products and packaging materials to identify any defects or deviations from specifications.
* Report any quality issues or concerns to supervisors promptly.
* Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of production areas to uphold hygiene standards and prevent cross-contamination.
Team Collaboration:
* Collaborate effectively with other production team members to achieve production goals and deadlines.
* Communicate any challenges to supervisor and management.
* Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, regularly promoting productivity and teamwork.
Qualifications
* Additional training in food production, HACCP principles or other related fields are advantageous .
* Previous experience in food manufacturing, baking, or a similar production environment is desirable.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following recipes and instructions.
* Ability to operate basic kitchen equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
* Must be relatively fit and active as the role requires some heavy lifting and a lot of time spent on your feet.
* Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed.
