Applications Engineer
Bedford
Salary up to £35,000 DOE
The Applications Engineer will provide a service to the sales department and customers, involving selection and quotation of products and communicating requirements between the customer and design team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Work from customer enquiry and translate technical requirements into selection of units by undertaking full calculations to meet the required specifications.
* Prepare cost estimates for new assembly proposals through good understanding of key suppliers and the manufacturing costing system
* Prepare quotations for presentation to customer whilst maintaining accepted levels of profitability.
* Maintain department performance statistics and deliver to agreed targets.
* Co ordinate between customer and design to manage the flow of information to ensure that the product fully meets the customer requirements. Track the progress of designs to ensure timely completion.
* Collaborate with other departments as necessary e.g. production, operations and quality to ensure high level of customer service.
* Co ordinate the submission of assembly drawings for customer approval and manage final submission of certified drawings and special documentation to customers requirements.
* Provide on site support for all products worldwide. For example, maintenance, trouble shooting and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
* Provide technical support to sales team, distributors and customers.
* Create Instruction and Maintenance Manuals for products using Microsoft packages.
* To carry out project work at the request of the Applications Manager.

Minimum Requirements
In order to be considered for this role a candidate must be able to satisfy the following requirements
* HNC in Mechanical Engineering - Essential
* HND in Mechanical Engineering - Desired
