Business Development Manager
Full-time, Permanent
Bedford - field based
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE
Benefits: 20% Performance Bonus, Company car/Car Allowance, Pension, Private Medical Cover, Life Assurance and 25 days holiday + Bank holidays.
Our client is seeking a Business Development to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to create new business & sales growth by maximising new business opportunities and ensuring retention and growth of clients.
Duties including, but not limited to:
* To lead and manage sales and new business development.
* To be overall responsible for the achievement of the new business growth and development.
* To work closely with management team to ensure all opportunities are maximised.
* To produce an annual strategic business plan.
* To ensure the creation and management of an opportunity pipeline.
* Develop and sustain a strong understanding of the major accounts and act as the senior relationship holder.
* Provide leadership and sign off for commercial decisions, in-line with correct authorisation.
* Continually drive and motivate the team to explore new business opportunities
* To build new and sustain relationships to maximise all opportunities.
Person Requirements:
* Experienced sales professional with a proven business development and sales track record, ideally working for a consumer brand.
* Experience in business development around new business concepts.
* Experience selling into large retail or B2B channels (e.g. facilities management, theme parks, holiday parks, tourist attractions, post offices, service station/train station/airport space)
* Driven to achieve targets and follow up on all sales opportunities.
* Graduate calibre with excellent commercial acumen, coupled with strong negotiation skills.
* Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to develop business contacts and relationships at all levels of an organisation
* A collaborative team player who supports their colleagues and managers
* Highly motivated and target driven, with a positive attitude & tenacity
* Strong administration, planning and organisational skills.
* Full UK driving licence. Willingness to undertake national travel.
