Celebrating 30 Years in Recruitment
And just like that 20 years has gone by in a flash…I started at 1st Choice in April 2001, at that point a much younger version of me embarked on my career in recruitment. I had no previous experience of recruiting but had sales and estate agency under my belt – which stood me in great stead! I couldn’t have made a better choice than 1st Choice! Throughout my 20 years I have learnt so much, met so many great people, nearly always felt totally supported and even when I haven’t I have always been able to tell someone and ask any questions I needed to.
Fast forward two decades and I have my own team as I am Operations Manager of the Bedford office. This year has been a different year – but I can now say I think we are in a great place with some great people on board and the future is still exciting (even after 20 years!)
So, I would like to say how happy I am to be celebrating this milestone (we will celebrate it properly when we can) but I also wanted to say thank you to the people that have made it happen! My boss Gill Knight – we have a great open relationship. We don’t always see eye to eye, but then that would be boring wouldn’t it? Thank you to my Clients – I won’t name them, but some of them I have worked with for pretty much that whole time and I love working with them and solving their wide ranging recruitment challenges for them. A lot of them have in turn been candidates and we have placed them in their new jobs and then they have of course quite rightly taken us with them as a supplier to their new business. Also the candidates both temp and perm, that I have worked with over the years and some of them for many years – without our candidates we are nothing! And of course all my colleagues past and present, each and every one has played a part in my journey for one reason or another and through that I have grown immensely!
To summarise I LOVE my job and am so lucky to be able to say that – if you don’t love yours then maybe calls us!
