Do you ever want to tell the person your chatting with if they wouldn’t mind swapping over to another platform because this just isn’t working? Well, here’s your chance! We want to keep in touch in a way that works for you, so let us know the what’s best.
-You’re looking for a job, but you’re working. So calling you during our working hours may not be practical.
-You may not be the kind of person who doesn’t check their emails every 5 minutes, so would texting work?
-Are you always on Facebook and find using their instant messaging they easiest and quickest way?
-Are you a fan of a ‘chat box’ on a website? Fast, free and easy.
Time is of the essence. When it comes to job hunting, you don’t want to miss out because you can’t answer the phone at your current job. By the time you get a chance to pick up the voicemail, the job has been filled. We will always drop you an email with the details but maybe giving you a quick text letting you know we’re interested would be better?
We know you’re in demand and we don’t want to annoy you with contacting you in a way that doesn’t suit you, that’s why we’re asking for your opinion. What is the best ‘keep in touch’ method that worked for you?
Personally, mine is from a small holiday company, the emails (I prefer email) are enough that they don’t get on my nerves but enough to know I am still on their database. I trust that they have not passed my details on as I don’t get any nonsense emails from other companies that could be related.
Keeping in touch is going to change with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into place 25th May 2018. It expands the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed, and places a range of new obligations on organisations to be more accountable for data protection. That’s a lot to take in!
We want to improve and make communication quicker and easier for everyone, so let us know what you think!
