Happy Birthday 1st Choice Recruitment – 20 years in business!
Finding your perfect match takes time, effort and, on occasion, a little bit of luck!
For the past 20 years one company whose reputation is based on an ability to build trust and strong relationships with clients and candidates alike has made it their business to successfully bring together like-minded people.
Maeve McGill has good reason to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 1st Choice Recruitment. From small beginnings in Midland Road, Bedford the company that she set up on her own now prides itself on having five branches throughout Beds, Bucks, Cambs and Herts.
Gill Knight, who joined Maeve as Temps Controller at 1st Choice in 1993 and has risen to become Chief Executive of the company, believes the secret of their success lies in their knowledge of, and their passion for, the profession.
"It's important to us that we identify the right candidate for the vacancy in hand so we offer both a flexible and tailor-made service to suit individual organisations' needs. "We have a capability to evaluate candidates skills on over 900 titles ranging from office and professional to accounts and finance, call centre, legal and technical skills....the list goes on and on!"
Despite the chill wind of recession that has blown through the British economy lately the company has continued to attract big names as clients. 1st Choice has many diverse clients and are proud to recruit for Mercedes Benz, John Lewis' new distribution centre at Magna Park, Autoglass Contact Centre as well as many other large and small organizations.
But it's working together as a team that makes 1st Choice Recruitment Gill Knight's 'first choice' working environment.
"We are a close-knit group and many of us in the management team have been working together for the last five or ten years" she says.
"Four or five of the branch managers have worked their way up through the business; we believe in building up honest, working relationships - both with our clients and within our own organisation.

to maintain excellent service levels, to the
simplicity in seeing one of the team create
