Business Excellence Award for an Excellent Business!

Once again local recruitment agency 1st Choice Recruitment have been cited for their business excellence. Having earlier in the year been voted Cambridgeshire’s Recruitment Company of the Year, they also reached the finalists stage in the Hertfordshire’s Recruitment Company of the Year Awards. Then this summer, 1st Choice were entered into the Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, and having qualified as finalists were delighted to be awarded the Training Excellence Award for their high quality and consistent approach to continuous staff development.

This award highlights the time invested in both new and existing staff within the organisation, which is also reflected in their Investors in People accreditation. 1st Choice Recruitment take pride and time in ensuring that they offer structured training programmes to all employees (whether new starters or long term staff) enabling them to reach their potential as high calibre, well informed and knowledgeable recruitment professionals. These training programs include staff at 1st Choice undertaking their Certificate in Recruitment Practice, and becoming members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). The REC are the governing body who oversee the recruitment industry, and aim to ensure that those working in the recruitment industry are fully trained and behave in a professional and ethical manner in their business dealings.

For longer term staff to continue to develop in their career and to maintain our high level of service, the company are able to offer a dedicated internal Training Manager Liz Maclaine. There are also external training courses and one-to-one coaching with more experienced colleagues. Liz Maclaine, our Training Manager, has been with 1st Choice for over 10 years and is a highly experienced, qualified recruitment consultant and trainer who carries out training needs analysis and designs tailor-made training solutions for all staff, from inducting trainees through to management training.

At present 1st Choice’s training schedules are being put to good use in our Bedford Branch, developing Emma Sharp, our newest recruit. Emma has joined the branch to support the existing, increasingly busy permanent recruitment desk. We are continuing to expand our business and heighten our profile in the Bedford marketplace, where we have been successful since 1989.
