If you have never worked for a recruitment agency before, the whole process can be a bit daunting, if not a little confusing.

But don't worry at 1st Choice Recruitment we understand this, so our fully trained teams will make the whole experience a worthwhile one, that will not only give you confidence but also a sense of achievement.

Listed below are a few helpful tips that will prepare you for your visit to 1st Choice Recruitment.

Things to remember 
CV

This must be up to date, containing information such as previous employment details, education, qualifications, courses attended, any hobbies/interests etc.

Time Management

Depending on your situation, we advise to give yourself
ample time for car parking, late public transport etc. Allow yourself approx 45 minutes for your interview, and any necessary administration needs to be completed.

What to expect 
Arrival

On arrival to a 1st Choice Recruitment branch you will be greeted by a member of the team. They will ask if your requirements are temporary or permanent and what category of work you are looking for. Once they have that information, you will be seated in our reception area, offered a cup of tea or coffee and asked to complete a basic application form.

Interview

Your interview will be treated in the strictest confidence and information gathered will be dealt with in the same manner.
Our interview style is very open, giving you the opportunity
to discuss your options and expectations.
Often we will ask you questions about salary, benefits, reasons for leaving previous employment and types of organisations you would like to work for.

Skills Evaluation

We are able to evaluate and enhance your current skills.

Permanent Opportunities

After your interview our consultants will have gathered enough information to match your requirements to our current permanent opportunities.

Temporary Opportunities

Should you wish to temp to gain experience, 1st Choice Recruitment will provide you with various options, to match location, industry etc.

Timesheets

To ensure prompt weekly payment, we will supply timesheets for you to fill out whilst you are on an assignment.
Timesheets will need to be sent to your office by Monday morning at 9am of the following week.
You can fax or drop a copy into your branch, where we will deal with them personally.
Your payslips are produced weekly, where you can pick them up or request they be sent by post. (if you prefer a postal service, please confirm your address with a member of the team).

Personal Information

To help us get you started, we will need bank details, two forms of identification (passport, driving license, official correspondence), P45, National Insurance Number and references. (Should you not have a P45 we will provide a P46).
